The Gamaliel Church of Christ meets at 205 East Main Street in Gamaliel, Ky.  Gamaliel is located in Monroe County, less than one mile from Macon County, Tn.

Our roots date back to 1840 when two civic minded citizens donated ten Acres to be used for a cemetery, church and school.  Shortly thereafter a building was constructed approximately 500 feet from the location of our current building.  This building served the community both as a school and as a place of worship until it was destroyed by fire in 1865.

As soon as possible after the Civil War, a new building was constructed near the previous location, again serving both as a location for school and church services.   This building continued its multi-purpose use until 1895 when a church building was erected across the street.

In 1949 a “modern” brick building was constructed and continues to be our place of worship today.

We strive to worship after the pattern laid out in the New Testament for Christians to follow.  We seek Bible authority for all that we say and do.   We seek to glorify our Lord in our worship and in our lives and to share our faith with others just as those first century Christians did.
